The goal of the training is to raise awareness of cloud technology and building of cloud capability in Europe through interactive sessions and live discussion.
This cloud training will be first and foremost for the European NRENs (both the CEOs and CTOs) to meet the GÉANT cloud team,Microsoft, AWS and Google cloud experts. Priority will be given to Eastern European countries participating EAPConnect project and NRENs in the GN4-3 project that have not attended the GÉANT cloud workshops before
GÉANT cloud team in collaboration with the Learning and Development team GLAD will introduce the GÉANT cloud portfolio, tools and necessary skills and knowledge needed for making the decisions about clouds. The participants will bring along their cloud stories and business models (including challenges and obstacles) as Proof of Concept to be discussed during the hands-on sessions. Also plans for cloud work can be prepared for the discussion.
Participants will have the opportunity to see and discuss the newest cloud technologies and the approach to the implementation with the experts from the AWS and Google world. The level of technical presentation will give a high-level view of cloud usage for NREN’s clients.

Transportation (airport to hotel): For travelling from the airport to Nicosia people can use Kapnos Airport Shuttle (https://www.kapnosairportshuttle.com) or we can arrange for a taxi to pick people up (Mr. Andreas ++357 99 689020 / antreastaxi@cytanet.com.cy – about 50euro per ride and less if shared). Note that the shuttle does not take you directly to your hotel, so you will need to catch a taxi.
Transportation (hotel to venue): The best way to get around is by taxi. Bus service is rather limited.
TIP: We would suggest landing at Larnaca airport, which is much closer to Nicosia than the Pafos one.
