NREN support

GÉANT is uniquely poised to offer the resources and services to assist NRENs roll out compelling and relevant cloud services and products for users. Because of the unique requirements and operational frameworks of the higher education and research community, provision of cloud IT services must address challenges of trust, security, privacy, legislation, procurement and interoperability. In GÉANT, we work to overcome these challenges in an integrated and coordinated effort to provide scalable and relevant services to the higher education community. Equipped with common strategies, standards-based practices and interoperability, economies of scale brokerage and vendor management and support for technical and mobile integration, GÉANT partners with NRENs to realise the potential of cloud-based ICT and help NRENs offer attractive services to users.

Data Classification Sheet

Cloud Forum

The Cloud Team T3 hosts weekly VC forums for NREN Cloud Service Delivery Managers, on Fridays at 10:00 CET to discuss and collaborate on rollout strategies, activities and progress. The Forum VC sessions take place in the JRA4 Lifesize room at http://lifesizecloud.com/2750418

NRENs and Supplier meetings

Manpower Support

To facilitate and stimulate adoption and roll-out, the GÉANT project is offering additional manpower resources to NRENs. This is to promote the IaaS portfolio of services. The resource allocation is available for use starting in July 2017 and extends until December 2018. It can be spread across a maximum of two employees. NREN employees awarded an allocation will join the IaaS deployment team to ensure a synchronized, collaborative approach. NRENs that are interested in applying for this man-month allocation may do so here.
