Universities, Schools and Research Institutions in Cyprus can now benefit from Microsoft Azure cloud services through the GÉANT IaaS framework agreement, making Microsoft Azure cloud computing an easy-to-use option for the research and education communities, with greater cost effectiveness, and dedicated support. As part of CyNet’s efforts to enable their members to move to the cloud with Microsoft Azure, a workshop was hosted covering the Microsoft offering for universities. Over 50 attendees participated in the event held on 29 March 2018 in Nicosia. The program included sessions on CyNet and its new perspectives; the GÉANT IaaS Framework and Azure4Edu; biometrics, learning analytics and gamified learning tools from SCM Secure; DocuSign tools for educational administration and processes; and Microsoft reseller AppXite. Representatives from Appxite were on hand as well.
