EOSC Future and GÉANT working together to expand access to OCRE cloud services

The EOSC Future Team and GÉANT have implemented an integration of the OCRE Cloud Framework portfolio into the EOSC Marketplace.  With this integration, the services from all 26 participating cloud providers are now available via the EOSC Marketplace. By offering these services via the EOSC Marketplace, it is hoped that the already successful OCRE procurement framework will be made accessible to an even wider audience. OCRE Success Story: Developing a new approach for the study of archaeological sites thanks to OCRE’s Earth Observation vouchers

The new-born “Digital Technologies for Aerospace” sector at the CRS4 Research Center in Sardinia, Italy, applies their deep know-how on integrating digital technologies with aerospace technologies to different application domains, including archaeology. In particular, one of their projects in this field focuses on defining a methodology that would allow to assess in advance the need of excavation activities for specific areas, through the pervasive use of remote sensing technologies. GAIA-X and EOSC Workshop with EUNIS 14/10/2022

On October 14, 2022, 39 interested parties attended the joint GÉANT- EUNIS cloud workshop on the GAIA-X and EOSC projects. Jakob Tendel from the GÉANT cloud team explained how EOSC is envisioned as federated patchwork of interoperable services and data environments, together with policy, administration, and infrastructure levels. G֤ÉANT is engaged at policy level with EOSC association, and in core technologies, like SSO, authentication environment, as well as procurement services. Individual NRENs are also active in EOSC projects, in areas like governance, taskforces, and technology implementation.
