The GÉANT (GN5-2) project Above-the-Net Services Incubator is excited to announce the award of its open call to four projects aimed at developing innovative Proofs of Concept for digital services in support of European Research and Education. The selected proposals address service development priorities across three areas of strategic importance for the GÉANT community: Digital Research Environment (DRE), Object Storage Infrastructure, Data Movement Infrastructure. OCRE 2024 contract award notices now published on Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) Platform

Following the successful OCRE 2024 Tender and the start of the OCRE 2024 Framework, we are pleased to report that as of 4 August 2025 all the OCRE 2024 contract awards notices have been successfully published on the TED (Tenders Electronic Daily) Platform, the online version of the Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union for European public procurement, in relation to the notice 260645-2024. All 39 award notices – one per country participating in OCRE 2024 – are now available in the TED Platform in the 24 official EU languages. The publication on TED marks the formal finalisation of the OCRE 2024 tender, ensuring transparency, accountability and legal compliance in this public procurement of pan-European scale. Read the...

Since its launch earlier this year, the OCRE 2024 Framework – the third iteration of GÉANT’s flagship Cloud Frameworks – has been gaining momentum, registering increasing adoption from Research and Education institutions and public organisations all across Europe. A few months into the Framework’s rollout, 60 participants with a shared interest in advancing the interaction between the R&E community and commercial cloud providers gathered in Utrecht over the course of two days for an official launch event.
